Removing the Old Plaster

Installing the Damp Proof Membrane
To create a moisture barrier, we carefully rolled out a corrugated damp proof membrane and secured it using plastic damp proof fixings. Ensuring a tight fit was crucial for comprehensive coverage. Once we were satisfied that the entire wall was fully protected, we proceeded to the next step.
Reboarding and Plastering
For this project, we reboarded the walls and applied Dura Finish plaster, a premium material that is 60% stronger than regular multi-finish plaster. While it is a more expensive option, it is ideal for areas with high foot traffic, offering increased durability against everyday wear and tear.
The Final Touches
With the plastering complete, the only remaining tasks were fitting the skirting boards and painting. The end result? A fully protected, moisture-resistant wall that prevents damp from seeping through and causing future issues.
